New Music + Old Wisdom, by John Francis Nejedlo
I came across a haunting new folk ballad by Adam Sweet called Skhul Child — inspired by the 140,000-year-old fossil from Skhul Cave, where Neanderthal and early Homo sapiens traits blend in one small skull. The song is delicate, tender, and deeply human — a reminder that our story is one of shared roots, not separation.

This song brought me back to a passage I once shared from Ian Tattersall’s Understanding Human Evolution, a book that helped me through a difficult season:
