Behind "Make Your Melody"
Since 1985, I have been teaching adults and teenagers in western Massachusetts how to play violin (fiddle), mandolin and guitar. I love my students! Over the years, I have watched (and listened) to them play music in bands and orchestras, and many of them go on to become fine musicians themselves. That's the joy of being a string teacher! I wrote this song for my past, current and new students! I hope it finds you hale and happy!
https://adamsweet.bandcamp.com/track/make-your-melody
(Verse 1)
In the Amherst area, where melodies bloom,
A mandolin and fiddle teacher lights up the room.
With violin, guitar, or mandolin in hand,
You'll find your rhythm, you'll make your stand.
From Granby's heart or online's wide reach,
Music's the treasure that lessons can teach.
(Chorus)
Come sign up for lessons, let your spirit sing,
Feel the joy that only music can bring.
For health, for life, for a heart that's strong,
Play a tune, and you'll belong.
Every note you learn will set you free,
Join the song, come make your melody.
(Verse 2)
Students young and old, with dreams in their eyes,
Pick up the strings and watch spirits rise.
Each chord you strum, each bow you draw,
Builds a brighter world, without a flaw.
In every lesson, you'll grow and shine,
Crafting a life where music's divine.
(Chorus)
Come sign up for lessons, let your spirit sing,
Feel the joy that only music can bring.
For health, for life, for a heart that's strong,
Play a tune, and you'll belong.
Every note you learn will set you free,
Join the song, come make your melody.
(Bridge)
Music's a healer, it steadies your soul,
Lifts up your heart, makes your spirit whole.
It sharpens your mind, keeps your body alive,
In every note, you'll learn to thrive.
From the first pluck to the songs you'll play,
Music's a gift that's here to stay.
(Verse 3)
At 117 Amherst Street, or a click away,
The door's wide open for you to play.
Join the orchestra, let your passion blend,
With Mandolin New England, the music won't end.
For long life, for joy, for a world that's bright,
Sign up today, step into the light.
(Chorus)
Come sign up for lessons, let your spirit sing,
Feel the joy that only music can bring.
For health, for life, for a heart that's strong,
Play a tune, and you'll belong.
Every note you learn will set you free,
Join the song, come make your melody.
(Outro)
So take that step, let your heart take flight,
With fiddle or mandolin, you'll find your light.
In Amherst's embrace, your music will soar,
Sign up for lessons, and open that door.
Behind "Grounds Sounds"
My wife Emily is a genius. She uses kitchen scraps of all kinds to fertilize the plants in our home and garden. I wrote a song about it called "Grounds Sounds". I often think of songs that are appropriate for my students to learn, and this one takes the cake! I wrote it with a basic 1,4,5 chord progression. The melody is simple and easy to learn, and with a little repetition, anybody can sing along. Let me teach it to you! Text 413-213-5767 to learn how to play and sing "Grounds Sounds" on your mandolin, guitar or fiddle

(Verse 1)
I'm a gardener with a secret brew,
Got a trick for my plants, and I'll share it with you!
In the kitchen each mornin', I sip my joe,
But the grounds in my pot? They don't hit the floor!
I scoop up those grounds, all gritty and brown,
Mix ‘em with water, don't make a sound.
Pour it in the soil, give the roots a treat,
Watch my garden groove to a coffee beat!
(Chorus)
Oh, the coffee grounds boogie, it's the talk of the town!
My plants are dancin', they're never goin' down!
Citrus and magnolias, bloomin' so fine,
Thanks to my coffee, they're feelin' divine!
(Verse 2)
My camellias are poppin', my blueberries sing,
With a splash of that java, they're doin' their thing!
No chemicals needed, no store-bought blend,
Just my old coffee grounds, a gardener's best friend!
The slugs run away, they can't stand the smell,
While my soil's gettin' richer, it's workin' so well!
Nitrogen, potassium, a sprinkle of zinc,
My garden's so happy, it gives me a wink!
(Chorus)
Oh, the coffee grounds boogie, it's the talk of the town!
My plants are dancin', they're never goin' down!
Citrus and magnolias, bloomin' so fine,
Thanks to my coffee, they're feelin' divine!
(Bridge)
Now the neighbors all whisper, “What's her secret, you see?”
They don't know it's my coffee grounds, workin' for free!
I'm savin' the planet, keepin' waste from the heap,
While my garden's throwin' parties, growin' lush and deep!
(Verse 3)
So grab your old mug, don't toss out the grinds,
Give your plants a boost, let ‘em wiggle their vines!
It's a natural magic, it's simple and fun,
With coffee in the soil, my garden's number one!
(Chorus)
Oh, the coffee grounds boogie, it's the talk of the town!
My plants are dancin', they're never goin' down!
Citrus and magnolias, bloomin' so fine,
Thanks to my coffee, they're feelin' divine!
(Outro)
So here's to my garden, where coffee grounds reign,
Makin' flowers and veggies go wild in the rain!
Do the coffee grounds boogie, let your garden be free,
And watch it grow happy, just like me!

Writing "Ringing Black Hole"
I wrote a high-energy techno track titled "Ringing Black Hole," capturing the cosmic collision of black holes with pulsating beats, shimmering synths, and a driving rhythm that echoes gravitational waves and the mysteries of space-time.
https://phys.org/news/2025-09-black-hole-einstein-hawking.html
"Ringing Black Hole" is a high-energy Cybernetic Fusion™ track inspired by the GW250114 black hole merger and its gravitational waves. With pulsating beats, shimmering synths, and a driving rhythm, it captures the cosmic collision and the predictions of Einstein and Hawking. This single reflects the simplicity of black holes' spin and mass, offering a sonic exploration of the universe's mysteries for astrophysics enthusiasts and dance floor lovers.
https://adamsweet.bandcamp.com/track/ringing-black-hole
(Verse 1)
Gravitational waves, they ripple through the night,
Black holes collide, no sound, no light.
LIGO's lasers dance, they catch the cosmic beat,
Space-time's trembling, feel the heat.
Einstein's vision, a century ago,
Predicted waves that only now we know.
Hawking's theorem, the truth unfolds,
Black holes sing secrets, ancient, bold.
(Pre-Chorus)
Spin and mass, the Kerr equation's call,
Two simple truths define it all.
Sixty-three suns, a hundred spins per sec,
The universe hums, no time to reflect.
(Chorus)
Ringing black hole, hear the cosmic tone,
Vibrations echo where no light has flown.
Ringing black hole, space-time's sacred song,
Einstein and Hawking, they were never wrong.
(Verse 2)
GW250114, the signal's clear,
Strongest yet, it's drawing near.
Millisecond pulses, a fleeting cosmic hum,
The final black hole's beat, the merger's done.
Max Isi and Farr, they tune the cosmic strings,
Decode the tones that the black hole sings.
From 2015 to now, the tools evolve,
Each wave a puzzle that science resolves.
(Pre-Chorus)
Spin and mass, the Kerr equation's call,
Two simple truths define it all.
Event horizon grows, it never fades,
Hawking's law in the cosmic glades.
(Chorus)
Ringing black hole, hear the cosmic tone,
Vibrations echo where no light has flown.
Ringing black hole, space-time's sacred song,
Einstein and Hawking, they were never wrong.
(Bridge)
Entropy rises, like the second law,
Black holes whisper truths we never saw.
Quantum and gravity, they start to align,
In the ringing tones, the secrets divine.
LIGO, Virgo, KAGRA unite,
Chasing waves through the endless night.
Ten years stronger, the detectors sing,
Future's calling, what truths will it bring?
(Chorus)
Ringing black hole, hear the cosmic tone,
Vibrations echo where no light has flown.
Ringing black hole, space-time's sacred song,
Einstein and Hawking, they were never wrong.
(Outro)
Ringing black hole, a symphony of space,
A fleeting signal from a distant place.
Through the lasers' pulse, we glimpse the divine,
The universe sings, forever entwined.
Writing "Voices Unheard"
I was struck by a story by Amherst College Junior, Willow Delp about social justice in Palestine, so I wrote a song about it https://amherststudent.com/article/anti-ableist-amherst-neurodivergent-in-palestine/ called "Voices Unheard"
A stirring folk-acoustic anthem born from the heart of advocacy, Voices Unheard weaves a powerful narrative of solidarity and justice. Inspired by the intersection of disability justice and the fight for a free Palestine, this song amplifies the resilient spirits of neurodivergent Palestinians facing unimaginable challenges. With haunting piano melodies and heartfelt lyrics, it calls for unity, hope, and liberation. Each note resonates with the unyielding belief that every voice deserves to be heard, and every life deserves peace. Download now to join the movement for freedom and inclusivity, from Amherst to Gaza.

Verse 1
In the heart of Amherst, a voice rises clear,
Willow speaks of justice, for those far and near.
Neurodivergent dreams, in a world that's unkind,
Bound to Palestine's struggle, their fates intertwined.
Pre-Chorus
From Gaza's broken streets to the West Bank's pain,
The weight of oppression falls like endless rain.
Yet in the silence, their stories unfold,
Voices unheard, but their truth must be told.
Chorus
Sing for the silenced, the ones left behind,
Neurodivergent hearts in a world so confined.
For a free Palestine, where all can be whole,
We fight for their freedom, their hearts, and their soul.
Verse 2
Eyad walked to school, unarmed and alone,
A life taken coldly, his story unknown.
Muhammad's cries echo, attacked in the night,
By a system that crushes their spark and their light.
Pre-Chorus
Starved of their needs, bombed out of their homes,
Neurodivergent souls face the world on their own.
From sound's piercing sting to routines torn apart,
Their struggle's a fire that burns in our hearts.
Chorus
Sing for the silenced, the ones left behind,
Neurodivergent hearts in a world so confined.
For a free Palestine, where all can be whole,
We fight for their freedom, their hearts, and their soul.
Bridge
Areej speaks for her children, their dreams held so tight,
Deserving of peace, deserving of light.
No shame in their difference, their minds bold and free,
Yet chance divides us, from Gaza to me.
Chorus
Sing for the silenced, the ones left behind,
Neurodivergent hearts in a world so confined.
For a free Palestine, where all can be whole,
We fight for their freedom, their hearts, and their soul.
Outro
So we'll raise up our voices, from Amherst to the sea,
For justice, for love, for a Palestine free.
Neurodivergent and strong, their spirits will rise,
Together we'll stand, ‘til their freedom's realized.
Writing “Granby DinoFest” — A Song for the Community
Every once in a while, a local event comes along that perfectly captures the spirit of small-town life in Western Massachusetts. For me, Granby's annual DinoFest is one of those traditions. It's quirky, it's joyful, it's family-oriented, and it's filled with the kind of energy that makes you smile just thinking about it.

[Verse]
Moon and Mars
We gonna shoot for the stars
I want to see your face
In outer space
[Prechorus]
Race race
Faster faster
[Chorus]
Moon and Mars
Is that all we are
A silly little race
To find a new place
[Verse 2]
I feel the bass
All over the place
The ship is ready to fly
Way up high
[Prechorus]
Time time
Tick tock
[Chorus]
Moon and Mars
Is that all we are
A silly little race
To find a new place
